Maenggoldo
Maenggoldo, or Maenggol Island, is an island in South Korea's Dadohaehaesang National Park, with an area of 1.73 square kilometres (0.67 sq mi; 173 ha). It is located at the western extremity of Jindo Gun (County), South Jeolla Province, in the administrative division of Maenggoldo-ri, Jodo-myeon. Maenggoldo and the neighboring island of Jukdo are the outermost inhabited islands of the Jodo Islands, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southwest of Seogeochado, and constitutes the south-western point of the waterway Maenggol Channel.[1]

In April 2014, the passenger ferry MV Sewol capsized north of the nearby island Byeongpungdo, and sank off the coast of Donggeochado.[2]
