Maitri Bagh

Maitri Bagh Zoo (also known as Garden of Friendship) is a tourist location in Bhilai, India[2] which was established as a symbol of friendship between the Soviet Union and India.[3] It is the largest and oldest zoo of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.[4]

History

Maitri Bagh is a "Friendship Garden" established as a symbol of India-Soviet Union friendship.[5] It was established in 1972 and was developed and maintained by Bhilai Steel Plant.[3]
