Early life and education
Mariam was born in Pakistan and later moved to Gadigal Country in Australia. She pursued her postgraduate degree in development at the University of Sydney with a focus on gender studies.[1]
Career
Academic roles
Mariam currently teaches at the University of Technology Sydney's TD School, mentoring aspiring entrepreneurs. She was the gender coordinator for the South Asia Study Group at the University of Sydney.[1]
Entrepreneurship
Mariam co-founded MoneyGirl, a platform aimed at empowering and inspiring women to become financially independent. [2]
Advocacy and community involvement
Mariam has been an advocate for diversity, gender equity, and financial literacy. She has appeared on ABC's The Drum to discuss the importance of diversity in leadership.[3] She was also elected Women’s Officer of the Sydney University Postgraduate Association (SUPRA) and later became its President.
