Melangkah Di Atas Awan

Melangkah Di Atas Awan (lit. 'A Walk in the Clouds') is a 1997 Indonesian musical drama television series directed and co-written by Putu Wijaya. It stars Inneke Koesherawati, Peggy Melati Sukma, Adjie Massaid, and Ronny Sianturi.[1] This was the last television appearance of Ryan Hidayat before his death on 8 February 1997.

Starvision commissioned the series on 6 January 1997 after the success of drama-based series such as Mutiara Cinta, Nikita, Mentari Di Balik Awan, and Harkat Wanita.

Premise

The story of Diah and her son, Indra, who decided to marry a village girl named Ayu, in which all of his companies grew bearing her name.

Production

Casting

On 6 January 1997, it was announced that Starvision reveal the series' cast.[2] The cast were Inneke Koesherawati, Peggy Melati Sukma, Adjie Massaid, Ronny Sianturi, Slamet Rahardjo and Adipura.[3] Rahardjo, who portrays Sastro, states that he was a fan of Putu Wijaya and was cast in the series, because Wijaya directed it.[4]

Music

Dwiki Darmawan and Eddy D. Iskandar wrote the main title theme for the series, marking their second soundtrack collaboration with Starvision. Ronny Sianturi performs as Indra and sings the series' theme song, "Melangkah Di Awan", released in 1997.[5] It was peaked at number 5 in Aneka Top 13 Indonesian Hits, dated to 15 November 1997.[6]
