Melissa Baldera

Melissa Baldera (born 20 September 20, 1995 Lima) is a Peruvian Paralympic sprinter.

Biography

Melissa lost 90% of her vision at the age of 19 due to glaucoma. She began practicing Paralympic athletics in 2017, and she participated in the 2019 Parapan American Games in Lima, finishing in sixth position in both the 100 and 200-meter T11 dash . [1][2][3]

In 2021, she participated in the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo.[4][5] She competed in Women's 100 metres T11,[6] Women's 200 metres T11,[7] and Women's 400 m T11.[8]

Her guide athlete is Edert Alonzo Yllescas Ramos.[9]

In 2022, she competed at the 2022 Para World Grand Prix, winning a gold medal in 200 meters T11.[10]
