Michael Buro
Michael Buro is an American mathematician and the creator of the Scat-playing computer program Kermit, as well as the Ostello-playing computer program Logistello.[1]

Professional career
Michael Buro is a professor at the University of Alberta in the Computer Science department.[2] He got his PhD from the University of Paderborn in Computer Science.[3]
Contributions
Michael Buro's main research field is in the category of Game theory. In this field, he made a selective search enhancement of Alpha-beta pruning, ProbCut,[4] and a more efficient variant, Multi-ProbCut.[5][6], in order to increase the strength of his Logistello program.
