Ministry for Rural Affairs (Sweden)
The Ministry for Rural Affairs (Swedish: Landsbygdsdepartementet), from 1900 to 2010 known as the Ministry of Agriculture (Swedish: Jordbruksdepartementet), was a ministry within the Government of Sweden. It operated from between 1900 and 2014.[3]

A new ministry under the name Ministry of Rural Affairs and Infrastructure was created on 1 January 2023.[4]
History
The ministry was formed in 1900 as the first new ministry after the departemental reform of 1840.[1] Originally named Ministry of Agriculture (Swedish: Jordbruksdepartementet), it changed its name to the Ministry for Rural Affairs on January 1, 2011.[5] The last Head of the Ministry was the Minister for Rural Affairs, Social Democratic MP Sven-Erik Bucht.[2]
