Mohammad Mujtaba Siddiqui

Mohammad Mujtaba Siddiqui (Hindi: मोहम्मद मुजतबा सिद्दीकी, born 6 May 1955) is an Indian politician. He was the member of 14th and 15th Uttar Pradesh legislative assembly from Pratappur assembly constituency in Prayagraj district Uttar Pradesh.[1][2][3]

Early life and education

Mujtaba was born to Mohammad Iliyas in 1955 at Lilihat a village of Pryagraj district. Mujtaba's primary education took place in a school in the village itself.[4][5]

Political career

Mujtaba was elected a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly for the first time in February 2002 and for the second time in the general elections of April 2007 on the ticket of the Bahujan Samaj Party. He was Gram Pradhan of Gram Sabha Lilhat, Phulpur Allahabad, from 1988 to 1994 and District Organisation Minister of Bahujan Samaj Party from District Allahabad.[6] Later, he was a member of the Joint Committee on Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Denotified Castes of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly (2007–2008) and (2008–2009). I was also a member of the Samprati Question and Reference Committee (2009–2010).[7]
