Mother, Couch
Mother, Couch is a 2023 comedy drama film written and directed by Niclas Larsson. It is based on the 2020 novel Mamma i soffa by Jerker Virdborg. It stars Ewan McGregor, Rhys Ifans, Taylor Russell, Ellen Burstyn, Lara Flynn Boyle and F. Murray Abraham.

Production
In October 2022, it was reported that Ellen Burstyn, Ewan McGregor and Taylor Russell had joined the cast of the film, with Niclas Larsson directing from a screenplay he wrote.[2] It was later revealed, Rhys Ifans, Lara Flynn Boyle, Lake Bell and F. Murray Abraham had joined the cast of the film.[3]
Release
It had its world premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival on September 9, 2023.[4][1] It will also screen at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.[5]
Critical response
On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 50% of six critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 5.3/10.[6]
