Mujibnagar University

Mujibnagar University is a public university in Meherpur District. It is the 53rd public university in Bangladesh.[1][2][3][4]

History

The Prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina desired to establish a public university in every district of Bangladesh. So The parliament passed the Mujibnagar University Act 2021 to establish a university at Meherpur District. It was proposed to be established as Meherpur University but later it was proposed to be established as Mujibnagar University in honor of the provisional capital of Bangladesh during the War of Indenpendence of Bangladesh.

Ministry of Education proposed to 400 Acre of land for the campus of this University at Mujibnagar Upazila or Meherpur Sadar Upazila in Meherpur District

Student life

This university is now early stages of establishment. No students have been allowed to enroll till now.
