Mysterious Team Bangladesh

Mysterious Team Bangladesh or MTB is a hacktivist collective from Bangladesh. The group has targeted Israel, India, as well as pages and services of adult and atheist content.[1] The attacks are mainly motivated by religious and political motives.[1] The group claims to protect Bangladesh Cyber Space.

History

The group appeared in mid-2020, but did not gain traction until mid-2022.[2] Cyber-attack solution provider Group-IB stated that between June 2022 and August 2023, the organization carried out 750 DDoS attack and 70+ website defacement.[3] The attacks target government, finance, logistics of target countries.

In December 2022, an attack on India's Central Board of Higher Education (CBHE) systems led to the exposure of personally identifiable information such as government identification numbers.
