Newrybar, New South Wales

Newrybar is a small town located in the Northern Rivers Region of New South Wales, Australia. The town's name appears to have been derived from a Yugambeh–Bundjalung word, "Nurybar", which apparently mean 'climbing vine' or 'the places where vines grow'.[3] At the 2021 census, it had a permanent population of 532.[1]

As of the 2021 Australian census, 532 people resided in Newrybar,[1] up from 444 in the 2016 census.[4] The median age of persons in Newrybar was 47 years. There were more males than females, with 50.6% of the population male and 49.4% female. The average household size was 2.6 people per household.[1]
