Education and career

Nilo Effori is a leading international sports lawyer. He was nominated as a thought leader in sports by Who's Who Legal from 2017 to 2023. His practice includes representation of parties before sports judicial bodies, including the Court of Arbitration for Sports, FIFA Football Tribunal (FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber, Player's Status Chamber and Agents Chamber) and the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal.

He also advises clubs, agents and players on national and international transfers as well as handling contractual matters for clubs, agents, intermediaries and players.

Effori attended the Faculdades Integradas Antônio Eufrásio de Toledo in Presidente Prudente in Brazil and graduated in law.

Before founding Effori Sports Law in 2015, Nilo worked in Brazil for Biazzo Simon Advogados (2008 until 2012) as the head of sports litigation and from 2012 he worked in two English Law firms, Dentons and Mishcon de Reya in London.

Nilo is a Arbitrator at the International Panel at the Sports Resolution UK and also a lecturer at ISDE Barcelona for the Master in Sports Management and Legal Skills and at Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca for the Master di I° livello in Diritto Sportivo e rapporti di Lavoro nello and UEFA Player Agent Program.

Effori is the founding Partner of Effori Sports Law, a firm specialised in dispute resolution in sports based in London, Lisbon and Doha.
