History

In approximately 1942 the aerodrome was listed as RCAF Aerodrome - Terrace, British Columbia at 54°28′N 128°35′W with a variation of 28.5 degrees E and elevation of 710 feet (216 m). The aerodrome was listed as "under construction - serviceable" with three runways, one of which has since been taken out of service.[5]

In 2018 the airport's newly renovated departure terminal was completed just in time for a major uptick in traffic driven by charters for industrial developments in the area.
