Reception

A critic from Sify wrote that "his highly sensationalized film of Nandamuri Balakrishna under the direction of YVS Chowdary has not touched the expected levels. Silly graphics, non-serious getups of Balakrishna, confused first half, monotonous screenplay and mediocre direction is all that this much hyped film can boast of".[2] A critic from Filmibeat wroet that "Though YVS Choudary claimed that he has prepared a good story, the Telugu film lovers can easily identify that it is a rehash / free-make of Sardar Paparayudu with a touch of Bharateeyudu".[3] A critic from Full Hyderabad wrote that "It's incredible just how lousy Okka Magaadu is. Y V S Chowdary may just have produced one of those films that have no place even in the recycle bin of Tollywood".[4]
