History

Jonna Venkata Karthik Raja came up with the idea while attending college in Bengaluru.[5] Wanting his classmates to be more aware of current events, he launched PaperBoy in February 2016 to deliver the news electronically in both web and app formats.[5]

After convincing publications to partner with him, he first launched the app in cities with larger youth populations.[5]

In 2017, the company had grown to 50 team members and the app had 12,000 downloads on Android and iOs.[6][5]

Awards

Paperboy was awarded the "Best Tech Aggregator" award by Franchise India and Entrepreneur magazine at the Startup Awards 2018 held in IIT Delhi.[7]
