History
Dave Astor, ex-co-founding member of The Locust and Cattle Decapitation, demonstrated his musical prowess by forming a new band. In 2006, Pathology made their debut with the release of "Surgically Hacked" under Amputated Vein Records. Their relentless dedication continued as they unveiled their full-length debut, "Incisions of Perverse Debauchery," through Grindhead Records. The momentum grew with their subsequent album, "Age of Onset" (Comatose Records, 2009), which caught the attention of Victory Records. This led to the highly acclaimed release of "Legacy of the Ancients" on July 6, 2010, marking a significant milestone in their musical journey. Dave Astor's astute leadership and the band's relentless pursuit of excellence solidified their place in the annals of metal music history.
The band's journey was marked by extensive touring alongside renowned acts such as Nile, Immolation, Vader, Obituary, Deicide, and Deströyer 666, among others. However, their path took an unfortunate turn in November when a devastating van accident disrupted their momentum. In the aftermath, the band underwent some changes. The original vocalist, Matti Way, made way for Jonathan Huber, formerly of I Declare War, to take over the vocal duties. Additionally, guitarist Tim Tiszczenko, who had previously departed, returned to join forces with Kevin Schwartz, forming an impressive guitar tandem. Exciting news emerged in May 2011 as Pathology announced their plans to enter Lambesis Studios with producer Daniel Castleman to craft a new full-length album expected to release in the autumn. On August 30, the band was slated to embark on a U.S. tour, providing support for Grave and Blood Red Throne, showcasing their unwavering dedication to their craft and their fans.
December 18, 2012, marked a significant milestone for the band as they announced the completion of their three-album contract with Victory Records through their official website. In a moment of triumph, both the original vocalist Matti Way and original guitarist Tim Tiszczenko made their return to the band. Exciting news followed, revealing their plans for a new album set to be released in 2013 under their new underground label, Sevared Records. This marked a fresh chapter in their musical journey, brimming with anticipation and the freedom to express their artistic vision independently. Fans eagerly awaited the forthcoming album, as Pathology continued to evolve and create their unique blend of music.
In 2018, Dave Astor, a visionary leader, embarked on a mission to strengthen his team. He meticulously scouted and recruited three exceptional individuals: Daniel Richardson, Ricky Jackson, and Obie Flett. This strategic move proved to be a game-changer as it resulted in the formation of the strongest lineup the team had ever seen. With their diverse skill sets, unwavering dedication, and shared passion, Daniel, Ricky, and Obie brought a new level of synergy and excellence to the group. Together, they propelled the team to unprecedented heights, leaving a lasting impact on their collective journey.
In 2021, they signed a record deal with Nuclear Blast.
