Perth Corporate Rumble

Perth Corporate Rumble is a white-collar boxing event, held in Perth, Western Australia.[1][2] The event has been held both annually and biannually since 2016.

The event was based out of former West Perth boxing gym "Anarchy", in which between 26 and 30 fighters were selected to take part in a fight night to assist in the fundraising for selected charities. The event was developed though Anarchy owners Glen Austin, a retired undefeated professional boxer, and Renea Wahop, a reality TV show contestant, former Miss Universe contestant and model.[3]

The first event took place on April 1st 2017, at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, in front of a crowd of approximately 1,000. Fighters at the inaugural event included former West Coast Eagles player Andrew Embley.


On October 2, 2021. The Perth Corporate Rumble moved the event from the Perth Convention Centre, to the Crown Perth to accommodate the growing number of guest. The event was titled Perth Corporate Rumble VI,[4] and included 28 competitors, consisting of 14 fights, 8 mens and 6 women. 2 teams, Red and Blue, as well as coaches, Glen Austin (Blue), assistant coach, Chris Chiari (Blue), and Nigel Groves (Red). Fights consisted of 3 x 2 min rounds, under the West Australian Boxing Association, Amateur rules and scoring system.

Fight 1 - Shelly Smith (Red) vs Adelaide Garland (Blue) competing for the PCB Asbestos and Demolition Belt. Shelly Smith won via judges decision.

Fight 2 - Martene Pearman (Red) vs Liv Strelein (Blue) competing for the Fierce Fitness Championship Belt. Liv Strelein won via judges decision.

Fight 3 - Simona Terranova (Red) vs Chiara Clarson (Blue) competing for the Studio 22 Championship Belt. Chiara Clarson won via judges decision.

Fight 4 - Tim De Souza (Red) vs Brad McIlroy (Blue), competing for the Mindbody Lounge Championship Belt. Brad McIlroy won via judges decision

Fight 5 - Marnee Faulkner (Blue) vs Tash Logan (Red), competing for the GobSmacked Mouthguard's Championship Belt. Tash Logan won via judges decision

Fight 6 - Casey Rushforth (Blue) vs Jemma Standen (Red) for the Ford and Doonan Air Conditioning Systems Championship Belt. Casey Rushforth won via judges decision

Fight 7 - Rachel Thomson vs Bec Curtin for the Merchant group Championship Belt. Rachel Thomson win via unanimous decision.

Fight 8 - James Ikin vs Rory Cook for the Australian Goldfields Championship Belt. The fight ended in a split draw. With the judges scorecards reading 29-29, 27-30, 29-28.

Fight 9 - Linford Smith vs Douglas Robertson for the Everlast Championship Belt. Douglas won the fight via unanimous decision.

Fight 10 - Joel Wollfrey vs Kyle Soulsby for the Special Eyes Optical Championship Belt. Kyle won the bout via unanimous decision.

Fight 11 - Aeson Derulo vs Ryan Kong for the Mecs Electrical and Control Championship Belt. Aeson won the fight via unanimous decision.

Fight 12 - Ben Voss vs Murray Hill for the Total Roofing Solutions Championship Belt.Murray won the fight via unanimous decision.

Fight 13 - Aaron Mancini vs Brent Irving for the Entour Production Group Championship Belt. Aaron won the fight via unanimous decision.

Fight 14 - Dylan Cunningham vs Kris Mills for the Cablewise Electrical and Communication Championship Belt.Dylan won the fight via Technical knockout in Round 3.


April 23, 2022 was the scheduled date for the seventh Perth Corporate Rumble, to be held at the The Crown Towers, Perth, but in early March 2022, all coaching staff and fighters were informed the event could not go ahead due to the worldwide Covid 19pandemic. The event was cancelled and moved to the 3rd of September 2022, and renamed Perth Corporate Rumble 8.

On September 3rd, 2022 the event was once again held at The Perth Crown Towers Ballroom, which would include a majority of the fighter scheduled to participate in the cancelled Perth Corperate Rumble seven event.It would feature a 13 fight card, with the continuation of 2 teams, coached by Glen Austin and Nigel Groves. The fighters included 10 female fighters and 16 male fighters. The event sold out, and was attended by the biggest crowd in Perth Corporate Rumbles history.

Results

Fight 1 - Chiara Oteri vs Claudia Borelli for the Geers Sulivan Championship Belt. Chiara won the fight by unanimous decision.



On Saturday October 7, 2023.[5][6] The eleventh event took place at Crown Perth, in support of the Saba Rose Button Foundation The event was reduced to 13 fights, due to multiple injuries sustained at training during the 8-week camp.

This event was the first ever to have two returning fighters who had previous fought and won their bought. Wiremu Paki and Ronny Harvey fought in the main event at PCR 8 and PCR 10 respectively, and would fight for both the PPS Championship Belt, as well as the Perth Corporate Rumbles adaptation of the BMF Belt

Fight 1 - Jasmine Barralette-Leak vs Maddy Revere. Maddy won via unanimous decision.

Fight 2 - Bella Dodnar vs Danielle Devellerez. Danielle won via unanimous decision.

Fight 3 - Barry Cox vs Alex Torres. Alex won via unanimous decision.

Fight 4 - Jessica Coleman vs Inicka Burns. Inicka won via unanimous decision.

Fight 5 - Michael McCormack vs David Bosnjak. David one via Split decision

Fight 6 - Michael Vermey vs Richard Taylor. Richard won via unanimous decision. This was the second appearance for Michel Vermey as a fighter at the Perth Corporate Rumble, he also took place in PCR 4 in 2020.

Fight 7 - Trent Petersen vs Jared Darcy. Jared won via 1st round Technical Knockout in round 1.

Fight 8 - Billy Quinncroft vs Josh Missak. Billy won via unanimous decision.

Fight 9 - Luken "Kai" Wong vs Brandon Willington. Kai won via unanimous decision.

Fight 10 - Raymond Swarts vs Vince Napoli. Raymond won the fight via Split decision.
