Pettaikaali (TV series)

Pettaikaali is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language romantic mystery drama streaming television series that airs on Aha Tamil.[1] Its producer and show runner was Vetrimaaran,[2][3][4][5][6] and the show was directed by Rajkumar.[7][8]

The story is about a village boy named Pandi, who is a Jallikattu player. It is the first Tamil language series about the traditional bull-chasing sport Jallikattu.[9] Produced by Grass Root Film Company, the series stars Kishore,[10] Kalaiyarasan,[11] Sheela Rajkumar, Bala Hasan and Vela Ramamoorthy, and others. The series comprised eight episodes and was released at Aha Tamil[12][13] on 21 October 2022.[14][15]

Synopsis

The story centers around a village boy named Pandi who manages to control a bull that belongs to the girl he loves with deceptive tricks. This rekindles the bygone animosity between the families and drives him to learn how to tame a bull without any deception.[16][17]

Casting

Kalaiyarasan was cast as the male lead role of Pandi and played a bull tamer for the first time in his career. Antony played another bull tamer called Parthiban, Sheela Rajkumar will essay the role of Thenmozhi, who rears bulls. Actor Kishore[18] was cast as Muthaiyaa and Vela Ramamoorthy as Selvasekharan, the village head of sorts.
