Piran (tribe)

Piran is a Kurdish tribe located in Iran, but also Iraq, Turkey. Piran is one of the Kurdish tribes of Iran, which are famous for being warriors, guarding the border, and being rulers. The Piran are from Iranians and Turanians, who trace their race to Piran's son, the son of Tor, Piran was Sepahdar and minister Afrasiab Turani.

The Piran tribe supported the establishment of the Republic of Mahabad in 1946/1325 and with 300 military riders of the Piran tribe. Under the leadership of Mohammad Amin Agha and Qarni Agha, they were part of the Kurdish army.

Origin

The elders are fond of relations with the Iranian tribes of the land, so they have had many marriages with Iranian tribes. And they belong to the Makrian Kurds of Surani in West Azarbaijan province, whose place of residence is Piranshahr, southwest of Naqdeh and Piran (Turkey), Diyarbakir, Sanli, Orfe, Mardin, and the city of Erbil, Dohok, Sulaymaniyah, Iraq, and their summer residence is the border strip of Iran and Iraq. A part of the Piran tribe lives in the city of Piran in Iraqi Kurdistan and a part in Turkish Kurdistan. Piranshahr city changed its name from Khan to Piranshahr in 1349 due to the great Piran tribe.

History

Il Piran has an ancient history. A part of the Piran tribe moved to Khorasan during the transfer of Kurds from the western regions of Iran and the border areas of Iraq to guard the borders of Khorasan during the Safavid era against Uzbek and Mongol attacks. The Piranlu clan is one of the Kurds of Khorasan and lives in the villages of Piran and Piranlu in the districts of Khorasan. Another number of this tribe in Jarban Kuch nomads and clans by Shah Ismail Safavi, in the cities of Sarpol Zahab in the village of Piran in Kermanshah province, another group called Pirani tribe in the southern slopes of Kabirkoeh in Pahle Zarin Abad city, parts of Sarab Mima and villages of Agre Bid, Kavar and They were settled in Bisheh Daraz, Abdanan city, Talur village in Ilam province, and the cities of Amara, Ali Gharbi, Kot in the east of the Tigris river in Iraq.[1][2]
