Poli town

Pori Town is a town under the jurisdiction of Huangdao District,[1][2] Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. It is one of the 23 key towns with a planned population of 50,000 ~ 100,000.In the list of China's Top 100 Towns in 2021, Poli Town ranks 91st.[3]

Historical reform

Thirty-four years of the Republic of China (1945) in December is a Zangma County Poli District.

In July 1949, the thirty-eighth year of the Republic of China, the Poli District was renamed the Third District.

In 1955, it was renamed Poli.

In March 1956, Zangma County was merged into Jiaonan County and was still called Poli District.

In March 1958, the Poli District was removed and divided into three townships: Poli, Xiaochang and Yokogawa.  In September of the same year, three municipalities were merged to form a satellite Commune, which was later changed to Pori Commune.

In March 1984, it was renamed the town of Poli.

In January 2001, Xinyang Town was merged into Pori Town.[4]

At the time of China's sixth census in 2010, the town had a population of 61,853. There were 21,093 households with an average of 2.80 persons per household. There were 8,692 children under the age of 14, accounting for 14.05% of the total population. The population aged 15–64 was 44,024, accounting for 71.17% of the total population; There are 9,137 elderly people aged 65 and above, accounting for 14.77% of the total population. There were 31,091 males, accounting for 50.26% of the total population. The total number of females is 30,762, accounting for 49.73% of the total population. Among the local population, the population with local household registration is 56,635, accounting for 91.56%.[7][8]

Poli Town has a national Class A open port, tons of deep water port - Dongjiakou port, and sea routes to more than 180 countries and regions worldwide. There are Shen-Hai Expressway, Dong-Liang Expressway, 204 National Highway, 334 Provincial Highway, Binhai Avenue and Qingyan Railway, Qingdao Metro Line 13,[9] and Shu-Hong Kong Railway. It is 75 km from Qingdao Jiaodong International Airport and 60 km from Rizhao Shanzihe Airport.[1].Dongjiakou Station of QingyanRailway is located in the town, which is adjacent to Dongjiakou Railway Station, the terminus of Qingdao Metro Line 13.
