Plot

Polly Pocket and her four friends Lila, Crissy, Shani, and Lea have their class chosen to be part of a charity edition of their favorite reality game show, Roll Like That, which is filmed at her family's new amusement park PollyWorld and puts teams of five through several challenges, to win money for the charity of their choice. Polly hears from her father, John Pocket, that he has a big surprise for her; at the same time, Polly's scheming and jealous rival Beth plots to win and steal credit of the park.

Upon arrival at PollyWorld, Polly discovers John's surprise is he is engaged to a woman named Lorelei, without notifying her beforehand. Polly tells her friends of her insecurities with the sudden engagement, just before discovering a clue written on their popsicle sticks leading toward their first Roll Like That challenge, the Hula Duel-a at the Pollynesian Paradise. That evening, Beth's team ends up winning, and Lorelei reveals she secretly despises Polly and is only marrying John to gain an interest in the family fortune, and plots to get rid of Polly by sending her to a boarding school. Beth overhears her and decides to team up with her and gives advice on convincing John the boarding school plans were his idea.

The following day, Polly's team is awoken to a surprise rainfall in their room and a room service of trees, revealing their next challenge is at the Rainforest Realm. At a rollerskating rink for lunch, Polly discusses a strategy to helping them win while Lorelei reports to Beth on her scheming. During the rainforest challenge, Polly and her friends start a fake argument, distracting Beth long enough for them to win the challenge. Polly is still worried of the engagement, and is soon shocked to hear her butler Samuel has suddenly taken a leave of absence, and John has announced the boarding school plans and she is due to start that Monday. Her friends are upset at first, but soon decide to make the best of it when Shani gets the next clue and decides to videotape the whole day.

All the teams meet up and start the third challenge, the Extravenger, but Polly is suspicious when Beth knows about the boarding school plans. Rick and Todd's team ends up winning, and Shani reveals she accidentally caught footage of Lorelei and Beth discussing how to get rid of Polly, inspiring her to show her true colors to John. However, she couldn't bring herself to show him the DVD because of how happy Lorelei makes him, and they vow to make their last weekend memorable before the final challenge at the Rockin' Arena. Once they get there, Beth activates a trapdoor which traps Polly's team under the stage with no one to hear them, so their team will be unable to show up and forfeit.

That evening at the final talent challenge, Polly's team has almost forfeited when Crissy finds a lever which transports the girls to the stage, and their band, Polly and the Pockets, perform their new song to the crowd. Beth takes Lorelei to the sound room to chastise her for ruining everything, accidentally sitting on the controls and bringing up their feed, finally exposing Lorelei's plans to John, who hears everything and ends his engagement, and Beth is laughed at when attempting to show her cheerleading. Rick and Todd's team is announced as the winner of Roll Like That, John apologizes to Polly, cancels the boarding school plans, and rehires Samuel. The film ends with Polly watching the fireworks with her one true family.

Cast

Reception

The film deserves major kudos for incorporating a topic such as remarriage into the plot, but based on the questionable actions of Polly's stepmother, who isn't as nice as she pretends to be, parents in a new or impending marriage may want to view those parts first in order to evaluate whether this film might trigger some painful emotions in their own kids.
