Qasim Hakimuddin

Qasim Hakimuddin (26 November 1931 – 5 April 2018) was the Mazoon of the Dawoodi Bohra during the reign of Mufaddal Saifuddin. Hakimuddin was the sixth eldest son of Taher Saifuddin. His mother was Fatema Aaisaheba.[1]

Career

After the unexpected demise of his elder brother, Syedi Yusuf bhaisaheb Najmuddin, in 1987, Hakimuddin was appointed as one of the four rectors of Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah.[2]

He held the position of overseeing Alvazaratus Saifiyah, the dawat's administration, with a special focus on the dawat's aamils, who serve as religious and administrative leaders in jamaats worldwide.

One of his significant accomplishments was his instrumental role in establishing the Burhani Foundation on the occasion of the 80th birthday of Mohammed Burhanuddin. This foundation is committed to promoting environmental awareness and endeavors to create a healthy and sustainable living environment.

Hakimuddin was appointed to the office of Mukasir, the third rank after the dai. He served in this position for several years before being designated as Mazoon in January 2018.

Death

He died of natural causes on 5 April 2018 in Surat, India.[3]
