Raghu Thatha

Raghu Thatha is an upcoming Tamil-language comedy drama film written and directed by Suman Kumar in his directorial debut. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films. The film stars Keerthy Suresh in the lead role, alongside M. S. Bhaskar, Devadarshini and more in the supporting roles. Sean Roldan is composing the songs and background scores for the film. The editing and cinematography are handled by T. S. Suresh and Yamini Yagnamurthy, respectively.[1]

Development

In November 2022, it was reported that Hombale Films would do a Tamil film featuring Keerthy Suresh in the lead role with M. S. Bhaskar in the supporting role.[3] On December, it was officially announced by Hombale Films that Suman Kumar, who previously co-wrote the web series The Family Man (2019-2021) would be making his directional debut with the film titled Raghu Thatha featuring Keerthy Suresh in the lead role.[2] The film's title is based off the line "Ek gaon mein ek kissan raghu thatha" (transl.In a village there lived a farmer) from Indru Poi Naalai Vaa (1981).[4]

Filming

Principal photography commenced in December 2022,[2] and wrapped up by 26 May.[5]

Music

The music and background score is composed by Sean Roldan in his maiden collaboration with Suman and Keerthy.[5]

Release

Raghu Thatha is scheduled for a release in 2023.[5]
