History
The school was founded by Antony Pullockaran, on one acre donated by A.J. John Master, who was a teacher in Elinjipara School. I.M. Menon, a former classmate of Master and the educational director of the Cochin state, was instrumental in gaining official sanction from the Diwan of Kochi. He obtained furniture from the government for the school. As a result, the school was named after his father Rama Varma XV GCSI GCIE (1852–1932), the ruler of the Kingdom of Cochin from 1895 to 1914.
The official functioning of the school started on 2 June 1942 with 90 students and three teachers. T.T. Vareed was the first headmaster. In 1948, first SSLC batch passed out. Gradually the number of students and teachers increased.
The school became a staff-management school where the titles headmaster and manager are held by the same person. Vareed master was the first Headmaster-manager. In 1998, the school was upgraded to a higher secondary school.
The school governing body consisted of H.M manager and elected executive members from the staff. When there was a steady increase in the members of teachers, this committee decided to make all the teachers on members in the school management. It was taken as a supposedly effective measure for the property and effective running of the institution along with the objective to protect and safeguard the interests of the teachers.
