Rajinikanth Vellalacheruvu

Rajinikanth Vellalacheruvu[1] also known as Tv9 Rajinikanth and Journalist Rajinikanth (born 9 January 1975, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh) is an Indian Telugu journalist who works as a managing editor at TV9 Telugu.[2] He hosts shows Big News Big Debate and Cross Fire.[3]

Career

Vellalacheruvu started his career as a reporter at a Vaartha newspaper. He later worked at Siti Cable , Later He joined TV9 Telugu in 2003 as a special correspondent. Currently he is managing editor[2] for the channel. He interviewed Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in 2019 before elections.[4] He completed 27 years of career in Journalism.[5] He worked on WOMEN TRAFFICKING IN THE ANANTAPUR-KADAPA-CHITTOOR BELT[6] episodes.

Big News Big Debate[7][8] is a prime-time discussion show hosted by Rajinikanth on daily current affairs; it has been on air for 15 years.

Cross Fire with Rajinikanth

In 2022, TV9 Telugu started a new format of discussions called Cross Fire with Rajinikanth. The idea of this new program is to have discussions on current issues with well known people from different domains.

Controversies

Vellalacheruvu's tweet after Maruti Rao suicide in March 2020 created controversy online, as he appeared to sympathize with Rao, who had been alleged of murdering his daughter's husband.[20][21][22] Ram Gopal Varma mentioned in his tweets about Rajinikanth spreading false news.[23][24][25] K A Paul has threatened Rajinikanth for his attitude in Interviews and warned of filing defamation case.[26][27] Vellalacheruvu received backlash online after he criticized Anandayya Ayurveda medicine.[28][29][30]
