Regency Cruises
Regency Cruises was a Greek cruise company operating in the late 1980s and early 1990s, created by Anastasios Kyriakides and William Schanz.
History
The company began with the MS Regent Sea, a former transatlantic ship. In 1986, the company bought 2 million container ships to convert them for passenger cruises, but this was cancelled the following year. By 1993, they had bought six ships. The company filed for bankruptcy in 1995.
Following bankruptcy, Kyriakides took the M.S Regent Sun and launched a new company, Sun Venture. The other ships were sold to cruise companies.
