Rila Mukherjee
Rila Mukherjee is a historian and author.[1] She is a professor at the University of Hyderabad.[2][3] She is a scholar of Indian Ocean studies.[4]
Early life and education
Mukherjee's father, Ramkrishna Mukherjee, and mother, Prabhati Mukherjee, were academics.[5]
Mukherjee completed her PhD from the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences.[6]
Career
Mukherjee taught history at Jadavpur University from 1992 to 2007.[6] She joined the University of Hyderabad in 2007.[6] She is a fellow of the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta.[6] She is a staff member of the International Institute for Asian Studies.[7] She is the editor of the Asian Review of World Histories published by the Asian Association of World Historians.[8]
