Sangre de Muerdago
Sangre de Muerdago is a neofolk galician band formed in Ourense but based in Leipzig (Germany).[1][2][3]
The band was started in by Pablo Caamiña Ursusson and Jorge Olson de Abreu in 2007, when they released their first demo Sangre de Muerdago.[4][5] The group recorded their self-titled first full-length album in 2009.[1]
Their lyrics, sung in galician,[6] are inspired by the galician and European tradition,[7][8] dealing with themes related to nature with mystical elements.[1] They make use of traditional musical instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy and the nyckelharpa.[9] They have converted several poems by galician writers into contemporary music, including the works of Rosalía de Castro, Celso Emilio Ferreiro and Manuel María.[1] The group have performed 20 international tours,[10] and have collaborated in split albums with other artists such as Novemthree,[9] Monarch,[3] Steve Von Till (Neurosis)[11] and Judasz & Nahimana.[12][13]
