Selangor MAC

Selangor MAC is a Malaysian professional futsal club based in the city of Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. It is a part of the Selangor F.C. sports club.[1] The club is currently competes in the Malaysia Premier Futsal League. The club is nicknamed the Red Giants. The Red Giants play home games at Panasonic National Sport Complex in Shah Alam, Selangor. The club is owned by Red Giants Sdn. Bhd, with Tengku Amir Shah as Chairman.

The Red Giants hold the records for most Malaysia Premier Futsal League titles (3). Selangor MAC were the third Malaysian club to qualify and enter AFF Futsal Club Championship where the club finished third place both in 2021 and 2022 season.

Brand and identity

Crest and colours

Selangor MAC uses the same crest as Selangor F.C. use. The crest is shaped like a shield, while the emblem on the upper part of the crest is derived from the Selangor State Council coat of arms. The colour characteristics on the crest is the main colour of the state of Selangor which symbolizes Bravery for red and Royalty for yellow.[2] Both of these colors are linked to the state flag which follows the identity of Selangor. The logo is then completed by featuring the state's blazon on the top of it.

Selangor MAC has a second logo derived from the MAC FC logo since Selangor merged with MAC FC.

Youth development

Selangor MAC Junior (Under-19)

Selangor MAC Junior is an under 19 team that was established on 9 January 2020, to provide early exposure and act as a feeder club & development program for the Selangor MAC & Malaysian team. For the beginning of 2020, Selangor MAC Junior will start playing competitively in the Republic of Futsal league for early exposure. Selangor MAC is the first team to provide a backup squad.[9]

Here, more advanced tactics are applied so that this young talent will take the name of Selangor & Malaysia to a higher level. Outstanding players will join the Selangor MAC senior squad and all Selangor MAC Junior players automatically become members of the MAC club where many of them are now national players.[10]

Red Galacticos MAC (Under-17)

Red Galacticos MAC focuses on teenagers under 17 where the exposure is more focused on the more intense and tactical game situations of Fifa Court. Players who stand out will join Selangor MAC Junior. Apart from that, consistent and outstanding players from the U18 league organized by Selangor MAC will be selected to join Selangor MAC Junior.

MAC Junior (Under-12)

Players from the SJYA Futsal Academy together select talent from an open trial session to be trained by former futsal players and certified coaches.

SJYA Futsal Academy (4-12 years old)

Starting from the roots as early as 4 years old, SJYA Futsal Academy MAC will focus on children aged 4-12 years, for early exposure to the basics of futsal.

Club

In 2019, Selangor Mac won their first MPFL title and also became the league's inaugural champions. In 2022, Selangor MAC successfully defended their MPFL title. In the same season, Selangor MAC became the inaugural winner of the Malaysia Futsal Cup and thus became the first club to achieve the Double.
