Shiloh Confederate order of battle

- Multiple commander names indicate command succession of command during the battle or the campaign.
- Maney, who was senior to Stephens, arrived on the field later and took command. Stephens was injured when thrown from his horse, as he records in his report (see: Official Records, Series I, Volume X, Part 1, page 452)
- Arrived on April 7, 1862.
- Not to be confused with the other 26th Alabama(O'Neill's) that served in the Army of Northern Virginia and later Army of Tennessee. Coltart's 26th Alabama was renamed 50th Alabama on June 6 1863.
- Commanded his own and the 3rd Brigade.

- Sometimes mistaken for the 55th (Brown's) Tennessee Infantry.
