Shooters Hill, New South Wales
Shooters Hill is a locality and mountain located 25 kilometres (16 mi) south of Oberon, New South Wales. It is the fourth highest point in the Central Tablelands at 1,355 metres (4,446 ft) AHD , behind Mount Canobolas at 1,394 metres (4,573 ft) AHD , Mount Bindo at 1,363 metres (4,472 ft) AHD and Mount Trickett at 1,362 metres (4,469 ft) AHD . Shooters Hill is a common location for snowfalls in the Central Ranges.

The tower location at 1,355 metres (4,446 ft) AHD is along Tower Road, accessible by turning off from a turnoff near the Shooters Hill locality area. The locality area (marked as Shooters Hill on most mapping software) is approximately 1,242 metres (4,075 ft) AHD . One can get good views over the area east of Shooters Hill at the tower location.
Shooters Hill Post Office opened on 1 December 1889 and closed in 1978.[2]
Climate
Although there exists no climate data for the summit or even the upper slopes of Vulcan State Forest, there is, however, climate data existing for a lower region located farther south in the Gurnang State Forest.
The region is subject to high winds and volatile weather year-round. Snow falls heavily, although by no means a regular occurrence due to its northern latitude.
