Sugnu
Sugnu (also spelt Sugnoo) is a small town at the southern tip of the Kakching district in Manipur, India.[1] It is on the bank of the Manipur River, to the east of Churachandpur district, Chandel district to the east and Bishnupur district. The town is inhabited by Meitei and Kuki communities. Meitei inhabitants is called Sugnu but Kuki area is known as Gunpi Gamkai. It is a very old town but never developed for over 100 years.

Geography
Sugnu is located at 24.3379°N 93.86824°E.[2] Its average altitude is 764 metres (2509 feet).
The town is about 74 km from the capital of Manipur, Imphal.
The Manipur River passes through Sugnu.
Transportation
Sugnu is well connected with the capital of Manipur through the Imphal-Sugnu State Highway through Thoubal, Kakching (two hours by car) and through Mayai Lambi (1.30 hours). It is 30 minutes from Churachandpur.
Politics
Sugnu is part of Outer Manipur (Lok Sabha constituency).[3]
