At the 2006 National Census, the region's population (as a part of the former Kiakola District of Qaem Shahr County) was 6,333 in 1,706 households.[3] The following census in 2011 counted 6,211 people in 1,924 households.[4] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 6,578 inhabitants in 2,303 households, by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Simorgh County.[2]
