Thales Lima

Thales Lima Cruz (born 20 February 1989), or simply Thales Lima, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Liga 2 club Persipal BU.

In this Portuguese name, the first or maternal family name is Lima and the second or paternal family name is Cruz.

Thales is the brother of Mateus Lima.

Club career

Thales played for Camboriú until mid-2016.

In 2009, he moved to Japan via Grêmio Barueri and Taubaté, where he joined Roasso Kumamoto. This club played in the second division, the J2 League. He was under contract with Roasso until mid-2010.

In July 2010, he went back to Brazil and joined Velo Clube Rioclarense.

He moved to Thailand in 2017 via the Brazilian stations Osasco, Atlético Cajazeirense de Desportos, Metropolitano, Naviraiense, and Grêmio Maringá. Here he signed a contract with Samut Sakhon. This club played in the third division, the Thai League 3.

After a year he left Samut Sakon. The Brazilian club Ríver signed him until mid-2018. With the club from Teresina he took second place in the Campeonato Piauiense.

In June 2018, he moved back to Thailand. Namely to Thai League 3 club Phrae United.[2]

In 2019, he joined on the Thai League 2 club Khon Kaen.[3] After the first series, the contract was terminated. From mid-2019 to the end of 2019, Thales was without a contract or a club.

At the beginning of 2020, Pattani signed in the Thai League 3. After two Thai League 3 games, on 1 January.

In July 2020, it signed a contract with Thai League 2 club Uthai Thani. He appeared on the pitch nine times for Uthai Thani in the second division.

In December 2020, it signed a contract with Udon Thani.[4] After 30 caps for Udon Thani, he moved to league rivals Lamphun Warriors after the first half of the 2021–22 season in December 2021.[5] At the end of the season he celebrated the championship of the Thai League 2 and promotion to the Thai League 1 with the Lamphun Warriors. With a total of 22 goals (in Udon Thani with 13 goals and in Lamphun Warriors with 9 goals) he became top scorer in the league. After the this season, his contract was extended in June 2022.[6] However, he was only used in one league game in the new season until the winter break and so the contract was terminated at the turn of the year.

In September 2023, he signed a contract with Indonesian club Persipal BU.[7]
