The Wife (TV series)

The Wife is a South African telenovela produced by Stained glass TV for showmax.[1] The first episode broke records for showmax.[2] It stars Wiseman Mncube,Kwenzo Ngcobo,Mbalenhle Mavimbela,Gaisang K.Noge and Sipho Ndlovu. The Wife took a production break in February of 2022 and returned with a lot storyline featuring Khanyi Mbau as Zandile Ngcobo, a wife to Bhutomdala played by Mondli Makhoba.[3] In September 2022, Showmax announced that Season 3 of The Wife had started being filmed, and that it would land on the platform in November 2023.[4] On 10 November 2022, the first three episodes of Season 3 landed, introducing Wiseman Mncube as the new star portraying Mqhele Zulu. Gaisang K Noge and Kwenzo Ngcobo return as Naledi and Qhawe respectively, the star-crossed lovers at the centre of the season. All episodes are streaming on Showmax.

Plot

The series follows a well journalist Hlomu who had it all including a fiancee who was a Doctor by profession. Even though Hlomu was engaged she never in love with her fiancee as he never gave her any attention. One day Hlomu accidentally hit a taxi which was driven by Qhawe Zulu and a spark between the two happen there but Hlomu was not noticing. After the accident Qhawe told his brother Mqhele Zulu who also happens to see the girl and immediately falls for her. Not giving up Mqhele Zulu started to form a connection with Hlomu despite being told to let her go.[5]
