Tikvah Fund

The Tikvah Fund is a conservative[1][2][3] or neoconservative[4] nonprofit charitable foundation whose stated mission is to promote Jewish thought and ideas.[5]

Activities

In 2011 the fund gave a four-year $12.5 million grant to the Shalem Center in Jerusalem, an attempt at a United States-style liberal arts university. The fund had supported the Shalem center for the previous decade as well.[6]

The Tikvah Fund funded several publications that aimed to disseminate neoconservative ideas to the American Jewish public, including:

The fund organizes the Jewish Leadership Conference, a conservative Jewish conference.[8] Invitees in 2022 included Trump administration Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Ron Dermer, the former Israeli ambassador to the United States.[1] Picketers attended to oppose the speech Desantis gave at the event in June.[9]

Leadership

Robert Hertog was chairman in 2011.[6] Neal Kozodoy was senior director as of 2010.[10] As of 2022, Eric Cohen was chief executive and Elliot Abrams was the chairman.[1][3]
