Topfest

Topfest, formerly known as Topvar Rock Fest, is a music festival focused on rock music, held every year since 2004 during June in region of Central Považie, Slovakia. Until 2011, it was organized in the vicinity of Nové Mesto nad Váhom - at the Zelená Voda recreation area, from 2012 it moved to Piešťany Airport. In its almost 20-year history, it has earned the reputation of the biggest rock festival in Slovakia, because in its 10th anniversary year, it was visited by more than 30,000 spectators, who were attracted by the extraordinary concert of the English heavy metal band Iron Maiden. In 2017, more than 8,000 admirers came to say goodbye to the legend Karel Gott, and the band Kabát is the most frequent performer. Until 2011, it was organized at Zelená voda near Nové Mesto nad Váhom, for the next 6 years at the Pieštany Airport, after which it returned to Zelená voda again and in 2022 it was held at the Banát horse riding school in Častkovce. The founder of the festival, the author of its name and logo and the dedicated annual organizer is Dušan Drobný and his supporters, who is also the recipient of several awards in connection with the festival.
