The origin of the Truong family lineage is in the village of Da Gia, located in the Ninh Binh province. According to legend, in ancient times, there was a general from the Truong family who was sent by the Jade Emperor to assist King Dinh Tien Hoang in suppressing rebellions and saving the people. After completing his mission, he was honored by the royal court and the villagers. After his passing, the villagers established a shrine to worship the Jade Emperor and General Truong. The Ninh Binh region is also the homeland and the place where the careers of many famous historical figures with the surname Truong flourished.
