History

The Tri Sanja Stadium was built in the late 1980s, the name Tri Sanja is an abbreviation of Tri Landasan Kerja (English: Three Work Tracks). This name comes from the cultural ethos of the people of Tegal Regency which contains three foundations, orientation to a better future, increased faith and piety, and believe in yourself and your abilities. This cultural ethos slogan was popularized by the 40th Regent of Tegal, Wienachto (1988–1990).[4]

Renovated

Ahead of the start of 2020 Liga 2, the management of Persekat Tegal, PSSI Tegal Regency, and the Tegal Regency Government jointly renovated the Tri Sanja Stadium. Improvements to the stadium include leveling and widening the field, making the main door to the west stand and two entrances for spectators, creation of a parking lot for the western stand, player changing room complete with lockers, construction of a referee's room, executive committee room and medical room, creation of a press conference room, construction of additional stands behind the goal on the north and south sides,[5] the addition of a VIP stand with a capacity of 100 people, and the creation of benches for reserve players, referees and match commissioners.[6][7]
