History

Founded in 1995 by Jacek Kowalski and Bruno Charrat, Verimatrix was initially a content security specialist.[1] In 2017, the company acquired Meontrust, an internet software and services company that provides authentication services,[3] as well as the MiriMON technology and development team from TV audience analytics company Genius Digital.[4]

In 2019, Verimatrix was acquired by French company Inside Secure.[5] The combined company adopted the Verimatrix name.[6] After its merger with Inside Secure, the company focused on cybersecurity for the entertainment, mobile, IoT, and connected cars industries.[5] 2019 is also when Verimatrix sold its Silicon IP, Secure Protocols and Provisioning business to Rambus Inc. [7]

In April 2023, Verimatrix launched a cybersecurity microsite for CISOs, SOC teams, fraud departments, and developers.[8] The site contains the latest information on mobile app security.[8] Similarly, the company’s VMX Labs provide ongoing cyber threat advisories, as well as information from team members who investigate threat types.[8]
