Vladimir Lebedev (politician)

Vladimir Albertovich Lebedev (Russian: Владимир Альбертович Лебедев; born 23 April 1962) is a Russian politician serving as a senator from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast since 25 September 2014.[1]

Career

Vladimir Lebedev was born on 23 April 1962 in Moscow. In 1988, he graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University. After graduation, he worked at the Gorky Regional Committee of the Komsomol. From 1997 to 2004, he worked in various energy enterprises in management positions. From 2004 to 2005, Lebedev was First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kirov Oblast. On 25 September 2014, he became the senator from Nizhny Novgorod Oblast.[1][2]

Sanctions

Vladimir Lebedev is under personal sanctions introduced by the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Switzerland, Australia, Ukraine, New Zealand, for ratifying the decisions of the "Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People's Republic and between the Russian Federation and the Luhansk People's Republic" and providing political and economic support for Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territories.[3][4][5][6] [7]
