History

WhatJobs was established by Alex Paterson in May 2011, originally operating under name AdView. The platform initially concentrated on delivering fresh job listings to candidates via email and banner advertising. In 2014, Saongroup made a substantial offer to acquire the business. However, Paterson opted to maintain ownership, continuing the independent development and growth of the platform.

In 2022, WhatJobs News launched a dedicated UK business news platform.[4] In the same year, the company opened an office in Italy.[5]

In 2023, WhatJobs appointed Heiko Zeutschner, the founder of the German job board Gigajob.com, as its new chairman.[4]
