Xiphochaeta is a genus of South American plants in the tribe Vernonieae[2] within the family Asteraceae.[3][4][5][6]

The only known species is Xiphochaeta aquatica, native to Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.[1][7]
