Being one of the largest Officers’ Training Regiment in the UK,[1] it was created in September 2011 when the University of Leeds Officer Training Corps combined with University of Sheffield Officer Training Corps in order to cater to all university students in Yorkshire:[1] specifically, University of Huddersfield, University of Hull, University of Leeds, University of Sheffield, University of York, Leeds Beckett University, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, and York St John University.[2]

Carlton Barracks is the headquarters of the Yorkshire Officers’ Training Regiment (YOTR)
