YourStory

YourStory is an Indian media platform founded by Shradha Sharma in 2008.[1] It is widely recognized for its role in highlighting and celebrating the stories of entrepreneurs, startups, and business leaders in India. YourStory has played a pivotal role in shaping the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country by providing a platform for emerging businesses to share their journeys and experiences.[2][3][4]

History

YourStory was launched in 2008 with Shradha Sharma as its founder and the initial seed capital of ₹2 lakh.[1][4] The platform remained bootstrapped until 2015, when it started gaining momentum. In the years 2015 to 2017, YourStory secured investments from prominent figures and venture capital firms, including Ratan Tata,[5] the University of California, Berkeley, Kalaari Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, 3one4 Capital, and TV Mohandas Pai. These investments totaled $8.5 million and helped fuel the platform's growth.[6][7][8][9][10][11]

Events

TechSparks

It is an entrepreneurship summit hosted by YourStory.[12] It is one of the tech startup showcase event in India.[13][14] It began in 2010 and is where some technology startups launch their products and services competing on stage in front of venture capital potential investors and other interested parties for prize money and publicity.[14][4]
