Lemmaphyllum fue descrito por Karel Presl y publicado en Abhandlungen der Königlichen Böhmischen Gesellschaft der Wissenschaften, ser. 5 6: 517–518. 1851.[2] La especie tipo es: Lemmaphyllum spatulatum C. Presl.
