- Type locality: Costa Rica, Guanacaste, intertidal rocks south of Playa Brasilito (10°24.25' N, 085°48.21' W). Holotype: D.W. Freshwater, D.T. Thomas & R.A. York; 5 October 2000; Growing on barnacles and rocks. US . Isotypes: WNC, WNC20957, WNC20958. Molecular vouchers: rbcL: KC192649; COI: KC288160; UPA: KC288158.
