Obituary (from lichen-l listserver, 6 Sep 2011)

Aino M. Henssen
12. 4. 1925 - 29. 8. 2011

Dear friends and colleagues, in the early morning hours of August 29th, 2011 Aino Henssen passed away peacefully in her 87th year of life after long suffering from illness. Lichenologists will remember her as a dynamic, enthusiastic, very productive scientist, great university teacher and as a helpful and generous colleague.

In 1992 she was honoured with the Acharius Medal of IAL.

Many of us will sadly miss her as a very dear friend.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, Sept. 17th, 11.00 in Neue Friedhofskapelle Marburg/Lahn.
