Mimophytum australe (G.L.Nesom) R.R.Mill ex Holstein & Weigend, Phytotaxa 288(2): 140 (2016).

Basionym: Omphalodes australis G.L.Nesom, Phytoneuron 2013-64: 19 (2013).

Type locality: Mexico, Puebla, Boca del Monte [S side of Pico de Orizaba], moist, shaded mountain slopes.
